Andrew Day
Chief Executive

Andrew commenced as Chief Executive of Hastings in October 2011. Andrew is an experienced Chief Executive with a track record of significant achievement both domestically and internationally. He brings a wealth of expertise gained from leading complex businesses across diverse industry, geography and at various stages of development.

Andrew was previously Chief Executive of Eircom Holdings Limited, an investment company. In this role he managed interests in the Irish telecommunications business Eircom and the Israeli directories business Golden Pages. Prior to this, he was Chief Executive and then Chairman of Truvo, a private equity owned company based in Europe, which managed a complex portfolio of companies.

Prior to joining Truvo, Andrew held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Sensis in Australia where he was responsible for transforming Sensis as Australia's largest advertising and search business. In Andrew's earlier career with Telstra Corporation, he held a range of senior roles running business units including that of Managing Director, Commercial and Consumer Sales. 

As well as being appointed as Chief Executive, Andrew will also become a director of Hastings.

Andrew holds Bachelor degrees in both Engineering and Science (dual honours) and a Masters of Engineering Science, all from the University of Adelaide.

 

Jane Frawley
Executive Director, Legal, Company Secretariat & Compliance

Jane joined Hastings in May 2010 and is a member of the Hastings' Leadership team. Jane is responsible for Legal, Company Secretariat and Compliance functions. Prior to joining Hastings, Jane worked as General Counsel Products & Services at AXA Asia Pacific, where she managed a team of financial services and litigation lawyers, was a director and company secretary for certain AXA subsidiaries, participated in the management of the AXA business projects and represented AXA in industry bodies and forums.

Prior to joining AXA, Jane worked with the Australian corporate regulator Australian Securities and Investments Commission, in a number of senior roles, including in investigations, takeovers, litigation and policy development. She also participated in the management of the Victorian Regional Office.

Jane has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University, a Graduate Certificate in Management Competence from the Australian Institute of Management and a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Superannuation) from the Association of Superannuation Funds Australia. Outside of Hastings, she is also a member of the Consumer Credit Advisory Committee, a Victorian government body and is a director of a not for profit organisation assisting women in prison.

 

Richard Hoskins
Executive Director, Infrastructure

Richard joined Hastings in May 2006 and is a member of Hastings' Leadership team and Investment Committee. He is jointly responsible for the Australian unlisted infrastructure equity team and is the Chief Executive Officer of Utilities Trust of Australia.

Richard has held numerous directorships on portfolio companies managed by Hastings including Perth Airport, Epic Energy, Interlink Roads, Statewide Roads and Port of Portland. Richard has been involved in a number of key transactions for Hastings including South East Water, the acquisition of additional stakes in Perth and Melbourne Airports and Freeport LNG.

Richard has over 20 years experience in the finance industry. Prior to joining Hastings, Richard was a partner of Mallesons Stephen Jaques specialising in project and infrastructure finance. Richard acted for Hastings and its investments for around six years including Perth Airport, Port of Portland, Global Renewables, Queensland Airports and Northern Territory Airports.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Melbourne.

 

Peter Johnston
Executive Director, Infrastructure

Peter joined Hastings in March 2011 from Macquarie Group and is a member of Hastings' Leadership team. He is jointly responsible for the Australian unlisted infrastructure equity team and is responsible for the teams dedicated to the management of The Infrastructure Fund and the Westpac Essential Services Trust. Peter also contributes across Hastings' existing senior investment team.

Peter started his career in the infrastructure sector in 1994 and over the last 16 years has gained a wide range of experience including roles working inside an integrated utility, as a corporate finance advisor and within infrastructure funds management in portfolio management, transaction, co-investment and investor relations.

Since 2002, Peter held a number of senior roles across Macquarie's Capital Funds, Listed Funds and Private Placement Group. Prior to joining Macquarie, Peter held a senior investment role with Industry Funds Management and earlier in his career spent time with KPMG Corporate Finance and Multinet Gas.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Monash University, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment. He is also a qualified CPA and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia.

 

Jeff Pollock
Executive Director, Infrastructure

Jeff joined Hastings in April 2008 and is a member of Hastings' Leadership team and Investment Committee. Jeff is Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Stock Exchange listed Australian Infrastructure Fund. Prior to joining Hastings Jeff was part of the senior management team at Prime Infrastructure/Babcock and Brown Infrastructure (BBI) where he was a key member of the leadership team, first as Prime Infrastructure/BBI's Chief Financial Officer and then as Chief Operating Officer for BBI Transport Infrastructure.

Jeff's main areas of focus at BBI were the management and operations of infrastructure and utilities in the transport and energy sectors. Jeff also has broad experience in asset management with his role as a Director on a range of BBI subsidiary boards.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Glasgow, and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland since 1988.

 

Steve Rankine
Executive Director, Alternative Debt

Steve joined Hastings in May 2008 and is a member of Hastings' Leadership team and Investment Committee. Steve is responsible for Hastings' operations in the UK and Europe, the Alternative Debt Team and is the Chief Operating Officer of the Australian Stock Exchange listed Hastings High Yield Fund.

Steve has had extensive experience on a large number of advisory, project, structured and leveraged finance transactions. Steve's previous roles include running Westpac's Debt Capital Markets Team, and establishing and leading Westpac's Project and Structured Debt Team. In addition he has also been responsible for Westpac's Institutional loan portfolio.

Steve has a degree in Economics from Sydney University and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1984.

 

Peter Taylor
Executive Director, Infrastructure

Peter joined Hastings in March 2000, is a member of Hastings' Leadership team and Deputy Chairman of the Hastings Investment Committee. Peter was the Responsible Executive for The Infrastructure Fund from July 2000 to June 2006 and was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Utilities Trust of Australia (UTA) in January 2004, a role which he later shared with Richard Hoskins starting in 2007. In August 2006, Peter relocated to the US to establish Hastings' North American business and in September 2010, Peter ceased to act as Joint Chief Operating Officer of UTA to focus on building strategic relationships and partnerships to further the company's managed funds' objectives in the areas of new investment opportunities, equity asset management and capital raising in North America.

In recent years Peter provided leadership on key outcomes for the group including the acquisition and merger of the UK water companies, Mid Kent Water and South East Water, the development of the Zachry Hastings Infrastructure Partners relationship and the Southwest Generation and Freeport LNG acquisitions. During Peter's time with Hastings, he has been a Director of Perth Airport, Queensland Airports Limited, NT Airports Limited, Interlink Roads, Port of Portland, Epic Energy, Global Renewables, Mid Kent Water, South East Water, Southwest Generation and State Highway 130 Segments 5&6.

Prior to joining Hastings, Peter worked in the Structured Asset Finance division at Deutsche Bank and at a number of chartered accounting firms in Brisbane and Sydney.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from the Queensland University of Technology, majoring in business and taxation law, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

 

Efim Tkatchew
Executive Director, Corporate Management

Efim joined Hastings in November 2008 and is a member of Hastings' Leadership team. Efim is responsible for the review, management and leadership of corporate support functions including Finance, Risk Management, Information Technology and Operations.

Prior to joining Hastings, Efim was Chief Operating Officer at Dearborn Capital Management in Chicago. Efim has 20 years experience in the financial services industry, and has previously held senior positions at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, State Street, Dresdner Bank in Australia, and internationally, with Credit Suisse.

Efim holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales and a Masters of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management. He is also a member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

 

Anthony Cherubin
Director, Human Resources

Anthony joined Hastings in April 2008, is a member of Hastings' Leadership team and is responsible for the Human Resources function for Hastings.

Prior to this position, Anthony worked at Telstra in varied roles including Director HR Telstra Operations, Group Manager Rewards & Equity and Group Manager Superannuation. Anthony was also an Alternate and Trustee Director on the Board of Telstra Super Pty Ltd from time to time and served as trustee Director on other related Telstra Superannuation Fund Boards. Anthony had worked with Executives at Telstra to implement their people strategies including remuneration frameworks, performance management and leadership development.

Anthony holds a Bachelor of Business from Monash University and a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning through Deakin University.
