David Dawson

Head of Private Equity

David is a director of Hastings Private Equity. David has been involved in the full range of private equity investment activities in Australia including fund raising and portfolio development as well as the sourcing, management and sale of investments.

David joined Hastings Private Equity in 2004 and has represented the funds as a non-executive director on the boards of seven investee companies.

Prior to joining Hastings Private Equity, David established the Melbourne practice of ANZ Private Equity in 2001. In 2003, he was appointed co-head of ANZ Private Equity with joint responsibility for the business's operations in Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Brisbane and Perth.

David also spent six years with NM Rothschild and Sons corporate finance teams in London, Sydney, and Melbourne, advising on a wide range of mergers, acquisitions, disposals and equity raisings.

David received a BSc in Accounting and Statistics from Southampton University in the UK. David is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (England & Wales) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
